We are farewelling one of our lovely FOH duty managers! So therefore we are on the lookout for someone cool to join our team. Ragtag is a fun, little neighbourhood restaurant, and we have a tight team! We often spend the weekends braiding each other’s hair and singing folk songs by the fire (This has happened and isn’t hyperbole). We are Open seven days, so a bit of flexibility in the week, shifts approx 11am till latest 12am, usually earlier, depends on how much fun we’re having.
This position is permanent part time 30hours minimum.

Our duck tacos have been on the menu since day one & they have been iconic ever since! Made with a flour duck fat tortilla, crispy confit duck leg, beetroot salsa and a burnt onion cream, these moorish tacos are a flavour bomb you can’t miss out on! We are open 7 days a week so plenty of time to come in and try them for yourselves ###

Tis the season for some warming unctuous dishes on the menu! Our mushroom rice is served with mushroom XO butter, grilled mushrooms and a gooey soy egg, all mixed together to make a risotto like bowl of umami. Honestly love having a rice like this on the menu! Cheeky spoonful of this bad boy in a tortilla wouldn’t be a bad idea either. Perfect dish as the weather starts to chill out a bit and we get to turn the heaters on for you all! It’s quite nice sitting outside under a heater on a crisp night. But if you wanna be inside, make sure you book ahead ###

Our famous steak, stealing the show and making the grill work overtime! Served with “hot-sauce” a soy egg and Taipei butter inspired by our time . All served with duck fat flour tortillas to make the most dreamy steak tacos you’ve had, pro tip is getting a baby cos on the side to jazz it up ;)

Octopus tostada with caramelised onion mayo, chilli jam, pickled chilli and fresh herbs, all resting on a cheeky .co crispy tostada. Great to smash into and share about the table, or be like this one guy I saw, and eat the whole thing in like 4 bites by themselves. Wild times. Good luck out there.

The prawn tostada has been on our menu since day one! An ode to one of the classic street food dishes we tried in LA, tacos de camarón. We thought that the classic dish was similar to a prawn dumpling so we mixed it up and made our tostada like a Chinese prawn toast. A .co corn tortilla stuffed with prawn toast mix and fried till crispy, served with a sweet mayo and sour tomato vinaigrette to cut through the rich prawn. The dish kinda sums up our whole vibe, food that looks Mexican but tastes like anything but authentic Mexican food. 100% not authentic.

Crazy year for our little restaurant in Westmere shops! Ticked off some amazing milestones this year so thanks to our amazing team for pushing all year long! Also a big thanks to all our amazing customers that keep coming in and supporting us, you make it possible for us to play around with special dishes and keep having fun and make tasty food every day!!! It’s been a wild ride so far and we can’t wait to see where another year will take us!
We are closed from the 22nd of December and back open from 12pm on the Friday 9th of January 2026! Wooooo love you all, stay safe out there and make good choices ###

Thanks to everyone that came to the Westmere festival yesterday! It was a bit dicey weather to start, but it ended up being a beautiful day and there was some amazing food from everyone in the Westmere community! Big thanks to all of the amazing people that helped make the day special and all of the beautiful cafes, restaurants and everyone in between. big shout out to .bakery .cafe London Dairy & all the other people that helped make the day a success :) If you missed out, come and check out our little block of shops and see what we all have to offer!

We are bringing back the Westmere Festival for 2025! Westmere is absolutely popping off at the moment, we have some of the most amazing food vendors in the city in one little block of shops, and we are celebrating our community with a food festival! We will be kicking things off at 12 pm on Saturday the 15th of November with all your favourite restaurants, cafes, bakeries, butchers & pharmacies bringing a different tasty treat to the table! Entree is free, all the stalls will be set out in the Westmere shops! Expect fried chicken sando’s from Ragtag, thick burgers from .cafe Roman pizzas from .bakery, mango sticky rice and some cheeky skewers from , some of the best sausages in the country by , pastries and treats from , slip slop slap from and even more fun and surprises, come on down and have some fun with us all! Every business is open as usual during the festival so take the time to explore the shops and eat some tasty foods! Love ya, see ya there :)

Carrots are one of our favourite things to jazz up. One of the coolest carrot dishes is the “ugly carrot” (their words not mine) at .nz. And I always like to use that as the standard for making carrots tasty. We have wanted to do a cheeky chicken wings inspired carrot dish. So we have carrots roasted in sriracha sauce, and then char-grilled. We have a classic ranch dressing and pickled celery, but most importantly, our house smoked feta, for some salty, smoky goodness. It really rings the bell of chicken wings, but ya know, carrots…
