🏆 RUGBY’S 2ND GREATEST RIVALRY IS COMING TO TUAKAU! 🏆
Get your rugby mates together because Ruakura Rugby Football Club’s All Blacks v Springboks Quiz Night is coming to ELSIE’S RESTAURANT & BAR FRIDAY 4 SEPTEMBER 2026.
And this won’t be just another rugby quiz night…
We are going to have a very special piece of All Blacks history on display.
THE ORIGINAL TRI NATIONS TROPHY 🏆
On 10 August 1996, the All Blacks defeated South Africa 29–18 at Newlands in Cape Town to win the inaugural Tri Nations Championship.

At full-time, captain Sean Fitzpatrick and the All Blacks were presented with this trophy.
Remarkably, the trophy was never played for again.
Because of its size and weight, it has not previously been made available to the wider rugby community in this way, but it will be at ELSIE’S RESTAURANT & BAR for our quiz night.

Teams entered on the night will have a rare opportunity to:

COUNTIES — IT’S TIME TO PROVE YOUR RUGBY KNOWLEDGE!

Everyone in Counties reckons they know their rugby — now is your chance to prove it!

To coincide with the All Blacks taking on the Springboks in Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry, Ruakura RFC is bringing Rugby’s 2nd Greatest Rivalry Quiz Series to Elsie’s Restaurant & Bar, Tuakau Hotel.
This will be a great opportunity to round up your mates, test your rugby knowledge and enjoy plenty of good-spirited banter as we build towards the third Test of the series.
The quiz will have a strong Counties flavour, alongside questions covering the Chiefs, All Blacks, international rugby, famous players, memorable matches and plenty more.
