I had one of those incredible teachers, who read Homer’s ‘The Odyssey’ aloud to us (at the tender age of 12) in a very dramatic voice - and the story has stayed with me ever since! Influencing us in more ways than one (note: Siren’s Song fish dish on menu, Odyssey w**es and Homer Sauvignon Blanc on the w**e list… and if you check out all the photos and pictures on the wall at Lokanta, you will get a definite feeling for epic journeys around the Aegean

Due to high demand this is staying ion the Specials Board meantime. Unctuous and satisfying, the epitome of winter food. Yep, they know how to cook beef in the Ta**us mountains, and Chef Zeki learned first hand in his years trucking all over Turkey. He would ask the locals in every region where to go to eat the best local food.. ending up with a taste and a talent for only the best 👌🏼👌🏼

Walk in to Lokanta, and immediately feel different ✨
Welcome to the Eastern Mediterranean, in particular the Aegean - where Greek and Turkish overlap, where they argue at the coffeehouse, and in the village squares - about which side makes the best bean dish, stuffed eggplant or semolina dessert. A common thread runs through, and everyone’s mama makes the best, in their own eyes 🌞
You can get a taste of this at Lokanta any night of the week, and if you happen to hear raised voices coming from the kitchen - you can bet they’re arguing about food !

To get to Lokanta, take a bus or train to the Stop Balmoral Station located near Richmond Road. Walk east on Richmond Road for about 10 minutes until you see the restaurant on your left. If driving, there is street parking available on Richmond Road and nearby side streets. Be sure to check for any parking restrictions before leaving your car.
