Get your body moving!

Paul Greenwood has very kindly come in to illustrate a few different stretches we should all be doing before winding up the driver to full speed while our muscles are still cold and increasing the risk of injury.

Paul has amazing golf movement credentials, having been the strength & conditioning coach for the last 15 years as well as 1000's of golfers at various stages of their golfing journey.

Just a quick intro vid to get you used to his accent 🤪, before we get into those deep lunges 😮‍💨

Neither us or The Hidden Cafe will have any surcharges so come hit some balls and grab a coffee! 😋

A cheeky little approach challenge will be running over the weekend too. The winner gets a $50 Iron Yard voucher and a polo!

Jacob letting one go on the 11th as he went out in 33 and in for a 38 for a 71.

The greens were running fast and true, with some pretty tricky pin placements today.

I can think of worse things to be doing on a beautiful autumn morning 👍

Are you new to golf, getting back into golf or just looking to improve your game?

Enjoy one 60-minute lesson per week for six weeks with a professional coach, for only $240 per person. Lessons start the week beginning Monday 18 May 2026. Maximum of 6 people per group.

The Iron Yard provides equipment for those who don’t have their own golf clubs, at no extra cost.

Lesson options include:

Mondays at 11.00am, 6.00pm, or 7.00pm

Wednesdays at 10.00am, 6.30pm, or 7.30pm

Sundays at 9.00am or 10.00am

Advertising at the Iron Yard!

Since we opened the range three months ago we've seen well over ONE MILLION golf balls hit to the sound of laughter and music from a diverse range of customers from all around Franklin (and increasingly far beyond!). We are open seven days a week, and are quite often at-or-near full capacity.

After a successful introduction of kids clinics in Term one we are bringing them back in Term two 😊

We have already offered spaces to existing kids in clinics and subscribers to the Iron Yard email distribution list - but have a few slots left in the times below if anyone wants to get their kids signed up!

The Playscape team is back!!!!!

We spent a bit of time this arvo marking out holes and choosing designs for the next nine holes on the minigolf here at the Iron Yard

Watch this space change as Bevan, Josh & the team turn these ideas into reality and our first stage minigolf is expanded to having the full 18 for even more fun times (and battles!)

We can't wait!

We're going big!!!

There's $1,000 worth of Iron Yard gift vouchers up for grabs in our new Toptracer closest to the pin competition which starts this morning thanks to support from Simone Simpson at Barfoot & Thompson.

To keep things interesting we've made it tough this time, with the men playing Pinehurst No. 2, and the women at Kiawah Island

Unfortunately the range reset is taking longer than expected - the range will be closed until 2.30pm today. Minigolf has opened.

MONDAY & TUESDAY range changes

Tomorrow we will open normal hours (11am-9pm) but there will be NO Toptracer all day on the range as we do an upgrade.

Tuesday the range and minigolf will be CLOSED until 1pm as we calibrate range distances

The Hidden Cafe is open as per usual Monday & Tuesday

Thankyou Clarks Beach Golf Club!

Earlier this week the boys went out for another battle as part of our "Play Local" initiative and the course didn't disappoint with fairways in good condition and the greens running nice and true.

This time it was Keiran and Aaron leading at the turn, but a 50 foot birdie putt from local lad Jacob on the 16th was pivotal as they came back to take another win.

Thanks to the club for hosting with a special mention to Karen in the pro shop!

Already looking forward to our next outing! 👍

If you’re a people person who thrives in a fun, fast-paced environment, and you like the sound of working somewhere that blends a bit of hospitality with a splash of golf, then this might be your next great move.

This position is ideal for someone with solid hospitality experience who enjoys leading from the front. You’ll help manage the venue during shifts, keep service humming smoothly, support our crew, and make sure every guest leaves with a smile.

Weekend shifts are the core of the role, with the possibility of extra weeknight hours depending on the candidate.

Managing the bar, monitoring service, closing-up, and ensuring responsible alcohol practices under your Duty Manager license.

Keeping an eye on stock and inventory so we’re always ready for a busy weekend.

Being the go-to person on shift; supporting your team but also confident making decisions independently when needed.

We’re after someone who’s:

Got a current NZ Duty Manager’s License (essential).

Experienced in hospitality management, including bar service and operations.

A real team player who brings good energy and communication skills.

Calm under pressure, great with people, and takes pride in delivering awesome customer experiences.

Golf experience? Totally not required! We’ll handle the swing advice, you just bring the leadership and positive vibes.

Our concession cards have arrived!

Give us a week or two to get the software linked and we'll be away.

Customers will be able to load the cards with 1,000 balls for $220 (equivalent of $11/50-ball token).

Cards will cost $5 to purchase then can be topped up thereafter.
