To our Ika Bowl family🐠
A bit of sad news today to say the least team.
We have been avoiding this public announcement for a while but unfortunately, like many before us we have made the hard decision of closing our doors for the last time. The ongoing challenges caused by Covid-19 have finally put us under and it’s no longer feasible or realistic to continue. We have finally run out of options and gas in the tank to carry on.
We opened this business back in 2018 at the age of 21 with little to no experience or skills in the hospitality industry and are extremely proud of everything we’ve achieved. Opening 2 stores in our first year, a 3rd in our second and growing our small team of 5 to employing almost 40. From catering, to meal kits, merch sales, events, our outposts all over Auckland and more. The many trials and tribulations we faced throughout Ika Bowl’s life have truly shaped our lives for the better.
Ultimately we’re grateful for each and every one of you who we were able to share our product and story with and wish you nothing but the best!
Big ups to everyone still in the hospo world or in any other industry! Owning your own business is no joke😅 the stress and pressure can weigh a ton on your shoulders, especially in times like these! So one last time, we ask that you remember to be kind and always support your local.

Annnnd we're back!🥳
It's been a rough two weeks but we're finally open again and excited to get back to what we do best!
We'll be open down at the from today! Moving forward we'll be open Monday - Sunday from 11am - 3pm.
In celebration of reopening in this current climate I thought it was only right to share a bit of love🙏🏽

Not the best news to start off our week😔
Unfortunately one of our staff members has tested positive for Covid-19 with several of our other staff members being considered as close contacts.
At this point in time we do not have the staffing capability to stay open and have no option but to close until further notice.
We’ve made it this far! We’re determined to ride out the storm a bit longer and get back to doing what we do best 🙏🏽
