A Brief History of The Malt: As the Greenhithe village transitioned from rural to suburban in the 1990s, there was a growing need for a community hot spot. So in 1997 The Malthouse was built, part of a retail block shared by our iconic neighbour Fishes. Many NZ pubs built in the ‘90s intentionally included wood-fired pizza ovens to shift pubs toward family dining; our pizza oven remains a centrepiece of the pub. As the years passed, The Malthouse was rebranded to The Malt Greenhithe. Fun fact: our logo is a beer hop 🍻

To get to Greenhithe Road in Auckland, you can take the Northern Busway from the city and get off at Albany Station. From there, there are several bus routes that connect to Greenhithe Road.
If driving, take State Highway 1 North and exit at Upper Harbour Highway. From there, take a left on to Greenhithe Road and continue until you reach your destination.
For parking options, there is a public parking lot located near Greenhithe Road or street parking may be available.
