What people say
Whanga Eats, located on Matakana Valley Road in Auckland, has received mixed reviews from various sources. While some customers have raved about the coffee shop's food and service, others have been less impressed.
A recent review in the New Zealand Herald praised Whanga Eats for its "delicious coffee and tasty breakfast options." The reviewer also noted that the cafe had a "relaxed and friendly atmosphere." However, this review was published in 2018, so it may not accurately reflect the current state of the cafe.
A more recent review on TripAdvisor from September 2021 gave Whanga Eats a rating of only two stars. The reviewer complained about slow service and "average" food. Another TripAdvisor review from August 2021 was more positive, with the customer praising the "amazing coffee" and "friendly staff."
On Zomato, a customer who visited Whanga Eats in July 2021 left a glowing five-star review. They wrote that the cafe had "great coffee" and "delicious food," as well as a "lovely outdoor seating area." However, another Zomato reviewer who visited in June 2021 was disappointed with their experience. They described the food as "mediocre" and said that they had to wait a long time for their order.
In addition to these professional reviews, there are also numerous customer comments available online. One person on Google Reviews said that they loved Whanga Eats' "homemade pies," while another called it their "favourite spot for brunch." However, some customers have complained about slow service or high prices.
Overall, it seems that opinions about Whanga Eats are somewhat divided. While some customers have had great experiences at this coffee shop, others have been less impressed. It's worth noting that many of these reviews were written during or after the COVID-19 pandemic, which may have affected service levels or other aspects of the cafe.
