It’s that’s time of the year again! Halloweek 🎃 A week of different dress ups and skits to make this time of year extra fun and a little silly 😜 Tomorrow is “from the movies”, so come dressed up as anything from your favourite movie. We will have discounted coffee for ya if you get amongst it 🤙🏼 Watch this space for more fun content this week, each day is different and the whole crew are ready for it! This is all leading to a Halloween Party at the end of the week too, anytime from 6pm and we’re also hosting a movie night on Thursday, lots on! Don’t be a rotten pumpkin, come and get amongst it 🕸️

This Saturday Night 😜 We have a gig on at drifter, so that means live music from not only one great talent, but we’re getting two! Tickets are a steal for $20 and you’ll get to enjoy Levi Lights On Project and The Dirt Road Orchestra ⚡️ We’re going to be serving some cheeky drinks and it’s going to be funky having some live music in your fav little kawhe shop this Saturday 🌞 See ya there! Tickets can get purchased at the door or ahead of time thru Humantix 🤙🏼

IMPROV CLUB 🎭 Next Thursday night, 6:30pm-8:30pm and now confirmed to run fortnightly. Improv club is going to be run by our very own master of on the spot Rykah 😜 $10 to be involved and you can snag a cheeky drink for a discounted rate 🫶🏼 We will play some improv games and work on thinking on your feet, being witty in the moment and having fun which is the most important thing! All levels are welcome, it’s very low pressure and supportive environment 🩷 See you Thursday night!

Happy Friday! Say hello to another new member of the crew! Mayu (“myyou”)🩷 She’s all the way from Japan 🇯🇵 She randomly visited Drifter with her husband, Naoki and they were looking for a place to rent and Mayu needed a job so here we are! She’s since become our new toastie prep chef and is killing it 🤙🏼 When she’s not putting our toasties together or making you all yummy kawhe, she’s on the hunt for thrifted treasures, loves to go for hikes and is enjoying her first kiwi summer 🌞 Say Heyo next time you see her, I’m learning Japanese on duoling at the moment and she’s a great person to practice with! Cheers!

Say Kia ora to another member of the drifter crew 🌺 Lauren 🌺 She hails from the mighty United Kingdom 🇬🇧 she’s on a working holiday visa for the next year and a bit and we’re lucky enough to have her on the crew for as long as she’s keen to stick around our little slice of paradise 🌊 Before she started at Drifter, she was road tripping with her finance and was a nurse, so definitely a change of pace! Welcome to the crew!

Definitely feels like summer in Drifter 🌞 Spent a few hours last night living things around (again), had a couch at our flat that was a lot better suited to the space and before we knew it, the sun was setting 😅 We hope that you have all enjoyed the new layout today, we’re hopeful that it’s a good one as it handled the steady flow of you you all today! Plus the whole crew from the Cameron Mackinnon 🌊 Thanks for keeping us so busy, it’s a lot of fun when the pressure gets turned up and we’ve gotta figure out who got the pumpkin muffin 🎃 Speaking of Pumpkin, we are going to pause the banana bread and start the Pumpkin Spice Season again in the lead up to Halloween 👻 We are also hosting another Improv Club this Thursday, 6:30-8pm 🤙🏼

Tomorrow night we’re bringing back an old favourite of our crafty creatives 😜 Work in Progress! Kicking off tomorrow night at 6pm and going till 7:30/8pm? Everyone is welcome, bring any projects you’re working on- crochet, painting, digital art, weaving, colouring in or just to hang! I’m going to be working on either setting up drifter for halloween or see if Ellen can show me how to crochet a flower hat 🌸 See ya tomorrow night 🤙🏼

Happy Monday 🌞 Say hello to anotha’ member of the crew- Corey 🫶🏼 She’s been with us for a few months now and has really made her mark on drifter, helping us out to fill the gaps in the beginning has has now become part of the almost everyday crew! When’s she’s not making you delsiciousioso coffee, she’s hanging out with her mates, being creative and enjoying the sunshine ☺️ Thank you for all the hard work you’ve put in, we’re dang lucky to have ya on the crew, it’s gonna be a rad summer ahead!

Great way to end a rainy weekend at the Puhoi pub with the whole crew 😜 Over the next few weeks I’ll keep introducing you all to them individually cause they’re all rad peeps 🫶🏼 Hope you have all had a wonderful weekend getting cozy, drinking coffee and escaping the yucky weather ☺️ It’s going to be October soon, our favourite month of the year, we’re gonna start decorating and celebrating the spooky season in the only way we know 🎃
