Eric planned for us to try out some Kohii and it’s so interesting to see the change of pace ☺️ We tried coffee form Columbia, Panama and China. This place does primarily pour over coffee, measured, weighed and ground to each cup, so different to what we’re used to and it gave us a cool perspective on how good coffee taste when you slow things down 😜 cheers!

That’s right! The boss has left the building 😜 Me and Eric are headed off to Japan for 3 weeks for our honeymoon 🩷 You will be in the very capable hands of the crew with Brody in the captains seat, she’s gonna kill it 🤙🏼 There might be a little less happening on our socials over the next three weeks, but if you see anything cool happening in drifter, tag us! Tomorrow morning 🌞 Secondwind who run every Tuesday, drifter back to drifter are rebranding! They have invited the to park up and we will be slinging coffee out to anyone who needs one 😜 It’s been an absolute pleasure getting to collaborate with such kind humans and massive kudos to Kelly and Regan for making cool stuff happen, for bringing people together and helping so many with getting out there, mental health and a sense of belonging! It’s epic seeing how much the shop has changed over the years…🫶🏼 We’ve held many events, celebrated many occasions, made countless, endless cups of coffee and my whole camera roll is full of drifter…too many moments, might need to make some space for all the moments ahead 😜

New stickers have landed! This afternoon with the last of this beautiful sunshine I went for a wander and took a couple of pictures 🌞 The gardens around the round about near maccas are stunning and so full of life! The ocean looks calm, another chill day on the Hibiscus Coast 🌺 Love this little community and I finally made a sticker that pays a little homage to this area and the grooviest coffee shop amongst it all! There are tons of new designs, stop in and check it out for yourself. These stickers are water resistant and hold up against the sun, ideal for ya water bottle, laptop or even your board, who knows 🤙🏼

One of our customers, Bryce is hosting an evening this Friday at the coffee shop 🫶🏼 Come anytime from 5:30pm for a coffee and then come and listen to Bryce talk about different elements about being a little more mindful and empathetic 🤙🏼 Bryce is a spiritual mentor and has been coming our way for a coffee for a little while now, the following Friday he’s hoping to host a workshop that more centred around men’s mental health, but this Friday is for anyone. See ya this Friday for some enlightening this Friday night 5:30-7pm ✨

Another great movie night at Drifter 🩷 We were raising funds for campaign 🤙🏼 We had free popcorn, mulled wine and watched Hunt for the Wilderpeople 🌿 Was a wholesome night and with all the shifting we did for the movie night…we did a little rejig putting it all back together and took out all the rugs 😅 Planning to give them a good clean this weekend, but the space feels new- hope you enjoy it today 🌞 See ya soon for a kawhe!

Our mate .r.thomas is shooting off to Iceland and on his last day of grabbing a coffee from us we accidentally dressed the same 😅 Wishing him all the best, adventures, stay warm and see ya in summer 🌞 This Friday night we are collaborating with and hosting a Movie Night to raise funds for her campaign 🤙🏼 Come and watch “Hunt for the Wilderpeople” with us. Drifter is so dang cozy in the evenings and it’s great when we get to hang out with ya outside of our normal shop hours! Hope you all have a rad rest of your week 🩷

When the latte art is that beautiful…you can’t help but flock around in admiration 🩷 That was a great looking matcha 🤙🏼 This weekend we will be CLOSED on Saturday and OPEN on Monday with a little surcharge as I’ve mixed up the holiday days 😅 But we have a crew keen as to work and make your long weekend just a little better…with more beautiful latte art just like this matcha 🌿 Hope you have all enjoyed this gorgeous weather today, the report says there’s rain tomorrow…but shall see! Shot up to Whangārei to check out my cousins band last night ✨ The Wandering Stock, they’re a six piece band throwing together some immaculate jazzy tunes! I’m hoping that we can get them to play at Drifter sometime in the future…would you be keen to come along and check em out? Today was so dang busy in the kawhe shop 😜 and also yesterday was Maddi’s last day 🥲 She’s been an invaluable part of the crew! She first started visiting us, chessboard in hand and then meadow and we became mates and when I put the word out for needing more crew- she chucked her hand up! She’s become a shinning light at the end of our busy weeks, tackling the hustle with a smile and unwavering confidence…She’s gonna be sorely missed and we wish her the absolute best time in Ireland 🇮🇪 Can’t wait to see where the adventure takes ya…hopefully over to 🫶🏼

Feels like the deep breath before the chaos that’s coming our way! Atleast the surf is freaking pumping at the moment 🌊 Gotta make the most of it and whoooweee…this day has been insane 🌞 We will be open all weekend and you might need a kayak to cross the possible floodwaters, but we will have a dry spot with your name on it waiting for ya! See ya out in the surf, come and get amongst it, 6pm looks like the sweet spot and also apparently there will be a 9m swell on Sunday 🏄♀️

Hey! That was a long 4 days away 😜 We missed making kawhe and being surrounded by our favourite people 🩷Hope you all were visited by the Easter bun and did exactly what you wanted to do with your long weekend- we sure did! Morena 🌞 No camping trip with ya mates is complete without a morning coffee 👌🏻 Stef and Em have this rad Atomic coffee machine that you can whack on a grill or stovetop and it makes something similar to a long espresso shot 😍 Perfect to share around and even though a milk jug was forgotten, in true drifter style, we made do! Cheers to the long weekend, to good kawhe and time well spent ☺️

Last day of March tomorrow! Just had a bunch of drinks land in the shop from 🫶🏼 When we first started in the caravan, these guys were there too, I remember getting them shipped to my nanas house in Orewa and that we’d always have a box of Pete’s Natural clinking around 😅 It’s so good to have their products back in the shop, nothing beats something that you know is made with a lot of love with NZ fruit 🤙🏼 I tried the pink homemade with my spicy pig today (epic match btw), but we have a ton more options for you to try!

Take a minute and enjoy the bliss that is Orewa Beach when the surf is ON 🌊 the sun is setting and the water still feels warm, you’re mates are around ya and it’s wave after wave, love this little town and all it offers to us ☺️ tomorrow is still looking good so if yo missed your chance this arvo…get amongst it tomorrow !
