Over the past couple of months, I’ve had the opportunity to work on the sale of three very different hospitality businesses, each with its challenges, timing, and approach:

- Ponsonby Road Bistro: A well-known and beloved institution, this one was put up for sale publicly and attracted strong interest before finding the right buyer.

- Bar & Eatery in Ponsonby: A confidential sale where the vendor preferred discretion. I worked within my buyer network to secure a great outcome without going public.

- Good Dog Bad Dog - Onehunga: A modern fast food concept with strong branding and systems. The sale required a different approach, focusing on the operational strengths and future potential.

Each of these deals required a tailored strategy, no two hospitality sales are the same. Whether it’s a confidential off-market process or a full marketing campaign, the key is understanding what works best for the business and the people behind it.

If you’re considering selling or simply want to explore your options, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Always happy to have a no-pressure chat.

What a way to wrap up the financial year!

March saw 4 business sales successfully concluded, each with its own unique story. One of those deals began over a year ago when the buyer was first introduced. Proof that persistence pays off!

A huge thank you to my vendors for trusting me with the sale of their businesses. It’s a privilege to guide owners through one of the biggest decisions they’ll make.

With multiple other businesses under contract and buyer demand at an all-time high, stock is starting to run a little light. If you’ve been thinking about selling, now’s a great time to start the conversation.
