One week of our pop up café. Thanks to everyone’s who’s visited us so far - we really appreciate your support and your patience. Our back and front of house teams have been working hard to create as seamless an experience as possible, but we’re grateful to everyone who’s ridden the disruption wave with us so far, while the rest of the works tick along next door.

We’re keeping it all pretty much the same as before, minus a handful of hot dishes, and same opening hours, so roll on through, weekend included 🫡

There’s a lot of complexity in the espresso, yet everything you could ask from a cup of coffee: deep complex sugars and a syrupy mouthfeel, with caramel, dried fruits and spiced notes. This one just adds a bit of sparkling acidity and an orange zest twist.

Tattooing is a strange kind of job. You spend hours with someone you’ve often just met, talking, working, and leaving them with something permanent.

We spent time with Dan from Sacred Tattoo in our neighbours series about the craft, the people, and the rhythm of a good day in the shop

🚨 LAST CHANCE

We’ll be saying goodbye to Outliers at the end of the week. Don’t sleep on the most fragrant coffee we’ve ever brewed!

The good thing about air-roasting on our Loring Kestrel is that it produces consistent profiles with clean, bright and clear flavours. That (plus a skilled team nailing development time for each coffee under August's guidance) means we can offer incredibly tasty brews that do the origin and producers justice.

When we asked Dan from Sacred Tattoo about Atomic, we expected him to say something about the coffee… He had the cheese scone on the brain. Very fair.

We’re taking over next door!

Back in 1995, we moved to 420 New North Rd, and over the last 31 years, we’ve slowly grown from our little left-side corner to taking over the whole building. We’re excited to bring our community more exciting experiences (more on that soon) in a fresh new environment. Still immersive, and still very Atomic.

While our builders chip away at the main space, we’ll be popping up next door, so you can still enjoy the same Atomic fare you know and love - hit & cold drinks, beans for home, food on the go and even a range of dine-in options. Coming to you Friday 19 June!

New drops on the lineup.

There’s something for everyone in our latest single origins rotation: warmth & soothing sweetness in the Guatemala Tinamit, balance and delicacy with the Ethiopia Mr Tadese Teko, a colourful fruit salad in the latest Black Diamond natural from Las Lajas, Costa Rica.

On espresso, we’re keeping it interesting with a washed Peru that was really hard to pin down through cupping. We landed on deep caramel and orange peel notes, with a kiwifruit brightness - but you’ll be the judge of it.

Try them by the cup in store, or get your hands on a bag online.

We’ve got some good neighbours around here.
People making things, running shops, building their own rhythm into the street. We spent some time with Dan from Sacred Tattoo - talking craft, Kingsland, and the strange job of sitting with someone for hours while making something permanent.
