About Us:
We are a well-established catering company with a vibrant team of professionals who love what we do. We are a government-contracted provider of lunches to schools under the Healthy Food for Schools Scheme, also delivering lunches to schools on a private basis. Our clients are based all over Auckland.
The Role:
• Effectively recruit, manage, train and develop the kitchen Team Members, generally 3-4 people
• Ensure the consistent production of high quality food to all schools/clients
• Develop positive customer relations through proactive interaction with Team Members, contractors, and suppliers
• Manage day to day kitchen operations, including ordering, managing costs and waste management
• Normal hours around 5-6am start until 3pm, based on school term time. Potential to work during holidays on special events, which could be 4 days during end of term holidays with potential hours 8/8:30-3pm
There is opportunity for growth in the role for those who want it; if you have future vision and drive new business, additional financial incentives are there. There is also potential for us to return to corporate catering in the CBD, with the appropriate candidate skillset.
Qualities of the Successful Candidate:
• Experienced in a chef role OR having relevant amateur cooking experience combined with other relevant hospitality/leadership experience
• Fun, outgoing and personable with warm customer service /stakeholder skills
• Highly motivated self-starter
• Flexible and willing team player
• Strong communicator
• Organised time manager
• Proven culinary skills
• Thrifty budgeting skills in order to minimise wastage

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated reliable and disciplined. Someone who is resourceful and organized, with attention to detail and is passionate about food.
As a Chef, you are fully responsible for developing the reputation of the company through the production of excellent quality food throughout the business, and the development of a high quality kitchen brigade.
If you drive and can deliver the lunch's this is also a role we need filled.
We have been accepted as a preferred supplier with the new government tender providing healthy food for schools, so we need a small staff intake for this.

To get to the restaurant and caterer on Merton Road in Auckland, there are a few options for transportation.
If you're taking public transport, you can take either bus route 007 or 008 and get off at the Merton Road stop. From there, it's just a short walk to the restaurant.
If you're driving, you can head towards Merton Road and look for parking along the street or nearby side streets. There are limited parking spaces available but it should not be much of an issue during non-peak hours.
Alternatively, there is a paid car park available on Merton Road which is just a minute walk from the restaurant.
