Thank you Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board 💙
We’re really grateful for your support in helping us create a better outdoor space 🌿🍴
With the new picnic tables in place, we’ve seen more of our community enjoying meals outside — especially those who prefer some fresh air and quiet away from the café. Staff noticed these spots became popular quickly, and they’ve helped make our space feel more welcoming and flexible for everyone 💬🌤️
Appreciate the awhi — and the opportunity to keep building spaces that reflect what our community needs 🙌
📸 A few snapshots below from recent moments outside — thank you again!

📣 ANZAC Day Closure – Community Café Ōtara
We'll be closed Friday, 25 April to honour ANZAC Day and remember those who served. 🌺
Here are 3 lesser-known ANZAC facts to reflect on:
🔹 The first ANZAC Day was commemorated in 1916, just one year after the Gallipoli landing.
🔹 Māori soldiers served in their own contingents during WWI, with over 2,200 Māori serving.
🔹 Anzac Cove in Gallipoli is now officially named in honour of our ANZAC troops by the Turkish government.
Lest we forget.
