The Mangere Bridge Tavern, a prominent sports bar located just minutes from Auckland International Airport, has been a cornerstone of the Mangere Bridge community since its establishment in 1968. Originally known as "The Lazy Lion" and later renamed The Black Bridge Tavern in the 1970s, the venue was acquired by ex All Black/Maori All Black Pat Walsh in the mid-1980s. Together with his wife Noelene and later his son Mark, who currently manages the tavern, they have successfully transformed it into a premier destination for locals and visitors alike. With three distinct bars available, the tavern is well-suited for private hire and catering for groups.
