Updated Card for Sat 16th May

π¨π¨ NATIONAL CHAMPS UPDATE!! π¨π¨
The National Championships are NOT being held in Hawkeβs Bay anymore.
We understand this may come as difficult news for some as travel/accommodation plans were already made.
Our focus is to give certainty of where Nationals will be, so Boxing NZ are actively seeking a NEW ASSOCIATION to deliver the 2026 National Championships.
The association needs to:
1. Have the structure, personnel and operational capacity to deliver a National Championship to standard.
2. Be registered under Internal Affairs to host boxing tournaments.
Please get in contact with the office urgently at [email protected]

Big thank you to Nabbys Events for hosting another great event π
So proud of all our boxers for great sportsmanship and courage displayed yesterday. Lots to take away personally from each bout especially ring-time experience.
π₯First up was Tommy who did everything deserved of win but unfortunately it didnβt go our way this time but I couldnβt be more proud of the skill, heart and dynamite punches exhibited. I know youβll come back even stronger as a result, itβs in your nature!π₯π₯
π₯Jireh was next and it was a strong reminder to always back yourself and trust your natural instincts. Unfortunately we left it a little too late but we learned how to manage it which will serve us better next time.πͺ
π₯Next was Tawhiri who was outstanding in the first round but fitness played a major role the next 2 rounds denying him the win this time but it was an absolutely high output fight with both boxers throwing down from round 1. Super proud of the heart you showed to stay in the fight.π₯π
π
Caius was our last for the day and it was a very dominant display. He had to work hard every round though and was absolutely tested. We came away with the win and lots of learning especially about accountabilityβ¦. DO YOUR EXTRAS!!ππ₯π₯
Thank you to our supporters who made the trip down, we could definitely hear your support!ππ

Awesome event yesterday hosted by Pacific Boxing Academy in Otahuhu ππ
Very grateful to have 6 matched on the card with all our boxers keen to get valuable ring time experience. So proud of you all for the courage and determination displayed ππ₯ππ₯
π₯First up was Mahia, a true warriors heart on display against an equally tough boxer. We didn't get the win but we got the experience needed. Well done Mahia π₯πͺπ
π₯Eli was up next against a very strong girl. First round was strong and rounds 2 & 3 were very close. A hearty performance gave her a split win but more important valuable ring time π₯ππ₯
π₯Next was John up against a very skilled and super fit boxer. First round was brilliant but unfortunately we were out paced for the remainder of the rounds. Didn't get the win but showed we can compete with a bit more fitness and determination π₯π₯
π₯Jireh lead us off after the break with a very solid, strong performance with great shot selection and game plan. We'll deserved victory for Jireh πͺπͺπ₯π₯π
π₯Tommy was next up against a very skillful boxer. Some very good exchanges by both boxers displaying high levels of skill and tactics. This time we were on the winning side of a very close split decision. Well done Tommy π₯πͺπ₯πͺ
π₯Last up was Caius making his debut. He showed good composure pressuring his opponent throughout the fight and taking advantage of every opportunity. Very proud of you Caius coming away with the win ππ₯ππ₯
Big thank you to our supporters and coaches for making the time to be there in support of our boxers πππππ
