Didas is both a tapas bar & restaurant and a European restaurant that has been established in the Herne Bay community since 2005. With Dida’s Food Store and Dida's Wine Lounge, visitors can enjoy an array of delicious local and imported deli delights, season lunch and breakfast menu, super coffee or a take home meal or sandwich. The wine list is always changing with multiple by-the-glass options of local and imported wines making it a foodie and wine lover's heaven. It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Dida’s Wine Lounge on Jervois Road.

For 19 years, Dida’s has been more than just a wine lounge—it’s been a gathering place, a cornerstone for our community, and a site full of memories. Opening in 2005 as our first hospitality venture, Dida’s has always held special significance for our family. The lounge was named in honour of my great-grandfather, who was also my aunty Angie’s grandfather, and the legacy he left behind.

We are immensely proud of what we’ve achieved over the years, introducing many of you to new wines, spirits, and beers, and sharing countless special moments together.

However, the challenges currently facing the hospitality industry have led us to make the difficult decision to close.

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to the incredible staff, both past and present, who poured their passion and dedication into making Dida’s a warm, welcoming place. Your smiles, service, and hard work have shaped the unforgettable legacy of Dida’s, and we are deeply grateful.

As we close this chapter, the space that Dida’s occupies will rest for a while. This isn’t the end of the story—there will be something new and exciting on the horizon, so watch this space.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey. Your support has been invaluable, and we carry forward the legacy of Dida’s with pride.

To get to the restaurant at Jervois Road, you can take either public transport or drive.

If you're taking public transport, you can take the bus or train and then transfer to a local bus. The closest bus stop is located on Ponsonby Road, which is just a short walk from the restaurant. Alternatively, if you're coming by car, there is street parking available in the area.

From Auckland CBD, head towards Herne Bay and turn onto Jervois Road. You'll find the restaurant located on your left-hand side. If you're coming from elsewhere in Auckland, simply navigate to Jervois Road and keep an eye out for the restaurant as you drive down the road.
