One of a kind watermelon co-ferment blend.

The watermelon co-ferment is produced in Colombia by Jairo Arcila, paired with a natural Ethiopian Konga for extra complexity and sweetness.

Limited release. Our last co-ferment sold out in a couple of weeks, we’ve stocked up for this one but it won’t be here for long.

Kia ora whānau,

Father’s Day always gets me thinking.

Mt Atkinson has been a family business for 18 years. That means a lot of early mornings, a lot of hard calls, and a lot of showing up because that’s just what you do when people are counting on you.

Sound familiar?

That’s what being a dad is too.

He’s the one who somehow knows how to fix everything, even things he’s never seen before. The designated BBQ master, whether he asked for the job or not. The guy who tells the same joke every single time and still expects a laugh. The one who’ll drive across town for you at 11pm and call it ā€œno big deal.ā€

A lot of early mornings. A lot of hard work. A lot of love, even when nobody’s counting.

Happy Father’s Day to every dad out there. Go on, put your feet up. Make yourself a good coffee. You’ve earned it.

Ngā mihi,
Jacob

Some drippers work great. Some win World Championships. This one’s done both.

Nas Jaafar used this exact dripper to take out the 2026 World Brewers Cup title in Brussels. Now it’s on our shelves. Clean, balanced, repeatable. No babysitting, no guesswork, just a consistent pour every time.

Made from durable Tritan with low thermal conductivity, so your brew temp stays stable start to finish. Finished clear, so you can watch it happen.

Here we’re brewing it with our newest release specialty coffee, Konga, an Ethiopian Yirgacheffe. Championship-level brewing, on your own kitchen bench.

Grab yours via the link in our bio.

How does coffee end up tasting like whisky? šŸ„ƒā˜•
The answer is in the barrel.

Ten minutes down the road from us is Thomson Whisky, small-batch, single malt, smoked with native manuka wood and South Island peat. A few years back we got talking to Mat Thomson about barrels. Turns out they’re nearly impossible to get in NZ, and Thomson’s one of the only distilleries here making them commercially.

Every year, Mat sets a handful aside for us. We rest our coffee in them for months. The wood’s still holding onto everything the whisky left behind. Manuka smoke, oak, vanilla, dark chocolate. The coffee pulls it all in.

We sat down with Mat to show you exactly how it happens šŸŽ„ Full video linked in bio.

Two Westie artisans. One barrel. One very small batch. Sells out fast, every time. Grab yours before it’s gone

INTRODUCING THE WHISKY MONT BLANC ā˜•šŸ„ƒ

Think Irish coffee, Mt Atkinson style.

Our Whisky Barrel Aged coffee, served hot, finished the way a good whisky coffee should be, cream on top, warmth all the way down. Manuka smoke, 90% dark chocolate, oak and vanilla under a soft cloud of cream foam.

This is the cosy one. The one you order when it’s cold outside and you’ve got nowhere to be.

In-store only, while this year’s barrel lasts. Pop into the coffee shop and warm up properly

What people say

Mt Atkinson Coffee on Portage Road in Auckland is a coffee shop with a heartwarming story. Founded by Jacob Parsons in 2007, the coffee shop has come a long way since its humble beginnings as a coffee cart. Jacob's vision was to serve the best coffee in the world, and he has certainly achieved that goal.

What sets Mt Atkinson Coffee apart from other coffee shops is their direct trade partnership with Ugandan coffee farmers. Jacob's trip to Uganda in 2010 inspired him to help these farmers get a fair price for their product. Today, Mt Atkinson Coffee imports container loads of coffee from Uganda, which directly contributes to community transformational initiatives in the Kanungu region of West Uganda.

But it's not just about doing good - Mt Atkinson Coffee also serves up some seriously delicious coffee. Customers rave about the quality of their beans and the expert roasting that goes into each cup. Whether you're looking for a classic espresso or something more adventurous like a flat white or cappuccino, you won't be disappointed.

Overall, Mt Atkinson Coffee is more than just a place to grab your morning caffeine fix - it's a business with heart and soul that truly cares about making a difference in the world. And with some of the best coffee around, it's definitely worth checking out if you're in Auckland.
