🏴☠️ ALL HANDS ON DECK! WE'RE HIRING AT SWASHIES!
Summer's on the way, and we're looking for a few good people to join the Swashbucklers crew!
We've got three positions available:
Chef de Partie | $28–$32/hr
Senior Duty Manager | $28–$32/hr
Experienced Floor Staff | $26–$30/hr
Rates depend on experience.
We're after people who know their way around a busy restaurant, enjoy working with others and aren't afraid to roll up their sleeves when things get busy.
You'll need good English communication skills, a friendly, outgoing attitude and the legal right to work in New Zealand.
Our Chef de Partie and Senior Duty Manager roles are full-time (30+ hours per week). The Duty Manager must hold a current NZ Manager's Certificate.
We're also planning split shifts over summer to help keep the crew fresh.

We're on the lookout for two experienced hospitality professionals to join us at Swashbucklers Restaurant & Bar, Westhaven Marina.
👨🍳 CHEF DE PARTIE
Know your way around a busy kitchen? We're after an experienced chef who takes pride in producing great food, works well under pressure and enjoys being part of a hardworking team.
Previous Chef de Partie experience is essential, with seafood experience a definite advantage.
⚓ SENIOR DUTY MANAGER
We're looking for a confident, hands-on hospitality professional to help keep things running smoothly, lead our front-of-house crew and make sure our customers have a great Swashies experience.
A current NZ Manager's Certificate is essential, along with proven restaurant and bar management experience.
WHAT'S ON OFFER?
✅ Full-time positions, 30+ hours per week
✅ $28–$32 per hour, depending on experience
✅ An established Auckland waterfront restaurant
✅ A great team and a workplace with plenty of character!
PLEASE NOTE: Applicants must currently be in New Zealand and hold a valid NZ work visa or otherwise be legally entitled to work here. We are not considering offshore applicants requiring visa sponsorship.

🍻 FRIDAY KNOCK-OFFS AT SWASHIES!
The working week's done and the weekend's calling, but there's no need to rush home just yet.
Pull up a spot at the Boatshed Bar, grab a cold Peroni (or your favourite tipple), order a few bar snacks and ease into the weekend.
Good company, cold drinks, something tasty to nibble on and that unmistakable Swashies atmosphere. Not a bad way to finish the week!

⚓ NOT THE NAUGHTY SEAT... DESPITE APPEARANCES.
Tucked away at the far end of the Swashies deck is one of those spots that’s perfect when you’ve got a few mates together and want a little space of your own.
You’re still right on the waterfront and part of the Swashies atmosphere, but with just enough separation to feel like you’ve claimed your own corner of the deck.
And with the covered seating, you don’t need a perfect Auckland forecast to make the most of it. A few clouds overhead? No worries. Grab the crew, settle in and enjoy the view.
It might look like we’ve sent you to the naughty end of the deck, but we promise you haven’t done anything wrong. 😂🏴☠️

WAIHEKE GROWN. WESTHAVEN POURED. 🥂🍷
There’s something rather appropriate about enjoying a Waiheke Island w**e while looking back across the Waitematā.
Frenchman’s Hill Estate w**egrower Luc Desbonnets established his vineyards to produce small-volume artisan w**es expressive of their individual Waiheke sites. FHE describes Luc's approach as matching varieties to particular micro-sites to create his own “unique earth expressions.”
We currently have two aboard:

Viognier / Sauvignon Blanc
FHE Pukeke
Syrah / Cabernet blend

International Talk Like a Pirate Day is officially underway at Swashbucklers - and as you can see, the crew understood the assignment. 😂
Some may have embraced it a little more enthusiastically than others…
We’re flying the pirate flag from 12 noon today, with the crew in costume, Pirate’s Roast, our special Blue Buccaneer and Seafoam Spritz cocktails, Guinness on tap, plenty of rum, fresh seafood and all the usual Swashies atmosphere.

It’s International Talk Like a Pirate Day - although around Swashies, we’ve been pretty well prepared for this since 1997. ⚓
The pirate festivities kicks off from 12 noon today, and we’ve got a few special reasons to come aboard:
🥩 Pirate’s Roast - sirloin roast with veges, mash & gravy
🍹 Blue Buccaneer - Blue Curaçao Piña Colada
🍈 Seafoam Spritz - Elderflower & Melon Spritz

To get to the seafood restaurant on Westhaven Drive in Auckland by public transport, you can take any bus or train that goes to the Wynyard Quarter. From there, it's a short walk along the harbour front to Westhaven Drive.
If you prefer to drive, head towards Auckland CBD and look for signs for Viaduct Harbour. Once you're in this area, keep heading west along the waterfront until you reach Westhaven Drive. There is plenty of parking available in the surrounding streets and carparks.
