Chef De Partie
Tasca Spanish Restaurant and Bar is seeking three dedicated and
enthusiastic Chefs de Partie to join our dynamic team. This role offers a great opportunity for an individual passionate about food and committed to excellence. As a Chef de Partie, you will contribute to maintaining high standards in kitchen operations and play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of our kitchen.

YOU MUST HAVE
A positive attitude
Passion and Commitment for food quality, consistency, service and cleanliness
Strong work ethic with a proven record of reliability and staying power
At least 1 year of cooking experience in busy kitchens
Cookery or Food and Beverage Management Certificate or Diploma
Good references
Good communication skills and works well within a team
An understanding of how to contribute to the running of a kitchen in an efficient and profitable manner.
Ability to rise up to a position of responsibility

YOU MUST BE
Able to work 30 plus hours per week including weekends and evenings
A team player
Solid hotline experience in cafe/restaurant environment
Fast and Organized, able to cope in very busy situations
Open to the flexible working hours of our industry
Able to maintain high standards of Food quality, systems, cleaning and hygiene

Eligible for full-time long-term work in New Zealand

Key responsibilities
• Assist the Head Chef in the overall management and coordination of the kitchen team
• Oversee the daily preparation and production of high-quality, innovative dishes
• Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards
• Train, mentor, and motivate junior kitchen staff
• Contribute to the development and implementation of new menu items
• Manage inventory, ordering, and cost control
• Collaborate closely with the front-of-house team to enhance the guest experience
What we're looking for
• Minimum 2-3 years' experience as a Sous Chef or Chef de Partie in a reputable restaurant or hotel kitchen
• Strong culinary skills and a passion for creating innovative, high-quality dishes
• Excellent knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
• Qualification in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience

About Us:
We’re a busy, licensed Spanish restaurant serving authentic Mediterranean flavours right across from the beach. Open six days a week from morning until night, we’re known for our great atmosphere, delicious food, and friendly, professional service.
About the Role:
As our Duty Manager, you’ll be the heartbeat of the floor – leading by example, inspiring the team, and ensuring our guests leave happy every time. You’ll be across everything from service to bar to bookings, keeping the operation flowing seamlessly from coffee to cocktails.

What You’ll Do:

Lead and motivate a team to deliver exceptional service
Manage floor operations, bookings, and table turns
Hands-on bar and barista work
Keep service smooth from morning coffee to evening sangria
Maintain a fun, professional, and team-oriented environment

Current LCQ & Manager’s Certificate (or ability to obtain)
