Two Perfect Tacos: Grilled pork, chorizo, fennel parsnip whip, pear and parsley salsa, served on a small soft wheat taco

The Best Crudo: Today’s fresh fish, chilli lime dressing, tempura nori chips, mango, mint and coriander finished with a drizzle of chili oil

With 2400 nominations we’re thrilled to have been awarded a spot in the 2026 100 Iconic Auckland Eats!

A huge shout out to our chefs, to our guests and especially to for nominating our Sichuan Cucumber Salad

With a change of season our new menu is due to launch but we’ve had to break the rules and keep this salad on for another season so that everyone who hasn’t tried it can try it and those who love it can go back to it.

The biggest Thank you ♥️ goes to the incredible team at Tataki Auckland -who do so much work to try, photograph, write about, put on their website, and run this incredible promotion of Auckland hospitality. We are very grateful to be in the cool club!

When I asked about this dish head chef Andrei Rotar said:
“Working in Auckland, you’re surrounded by amazing, everyday food—especially around Dominion Road. That really influenced me. There’s so much bold, punchy flavour in those spots, and it’s all about being fresh and craveable.
This dish is about taking that same energy and applying a bit more precision to something really simple like cucumber—keeping it seasonal and accessible, but turning it into something people actually remember.”

Bit of a change in subject today, because it’s our first ever closed Sunday. We chose to keep our team safe and give everyone a rest after a busy few weeks. We’ll be back tomorrow and every day after.

Yesterday, out beady-eyed team spotted this lil lady working hard on site.

A female praying mantis creates an egg sac, or ootheca, in late summer by secreting a foamy, protein-based substance from her abdomen, which hardens around 50–400 eggs into a polystyrene-like protective shell. She meticulously shapes this foam onto twigs or structures to protect the eggs from predators and winter temperatures.

Not so much about cold temperatures here, because it’s still warm every day. But this crazy little thing is gonna keep her eggs safe for the next six weeks or so until they hatch. And then loads of baby praying mantis’ will be mosying around, doing their work, while we do ours.

How cool is that!

It’s an absolute tragedy.

When it happened yesterday we were in shock. We went through the stages of grief including denial, bargaining (with the repair guy), and finally acceptance.

We’ve already chosen a brand-new colour for a new jumping pillow and got the mothballs out of the wallet to buy it; these things are an investment!

But you’re worth it, even though you’ve worn this puppy out, until she couldn’t support even one more bounce.

What would be really amazing is if you liked or commented or shared this post, tell us why you love the jumping pillow, it will help get the word out. Because truth is, that we’re a little bit jumping pillow short for the next couple of weeks which happens to be school holidays.

This is gonna prove whether you just love us for the jumping pillow or whether you really love us. We are still here the sandpit is here, the little kitchen’s going. The board games are going & the colouring, the golf simulators, ⛳️ the smiles and the epic food.

We are here for you, the real question is are you here for us in the bad times as well as the good.

We are so excited about chocolate and eggs and everything new 🐥🐣

Come and see us on Easter Saturday is really busy but Friday Sunday and Monday we have space, we are closed on Thursday though that’s tomorrow because we have a very special wedding. It’s the last one well actually it’s the second one of the season and also the last one. We hardly ever close but tomorrow is one of those very rare days so bear with us.

He is recognised for his uptight sets, crowd interaction, diverse track selection, scratching and CDJ trickery. General Lee enjoys mainstream success and underground respect.
