The ones who saw our Brew & You poster and thought…

“That looks interesting, but it’s probably not for me.”

Can we challenge that for a moment?

You don’t need to be looking for café work.
You don’t need to be a coffee expert.
You don’t need to be young (although you absolutely can be 😉).
You don’t need to know what you’re doing.

You just need to be someone who’s willing to give something new a go.

Maybe you’re semi-retired and looking for a new challenge.

Maybe you’ve spent years looking after everyone else and fancy doing something for yourself.

Maybe you’re thinking about returning to work and would like another practical skill in your toolkit.

Or maybe you’ve always wondered what goes on behind the café counter and how they make coffee taste so good ☕

Brew & You is a hands-on, 2-session coffee experience with Zee at Crimson Coast Café.

Small group.
Real café.
Plenty of encouragement.

☕ Not every workshop needs to lead to a qualification. Sometimes it's about confidence, connection... and learning how to make a decent flat white.

Spent years raising kids? Working? Looking after everyone else? Semi-retired? Officially "retired" but not actually very good at sitting still?

Maybe this is your turn.

Brew & You is a 2-session hands-on coffee course run in a real working café with Zee at Crimson Coast Café. It isn't about becoming the next café owner - it's about giving something new a go, learning a practical skill, meeting good people and walking away thinking...

"Actually... I can do that."

And who knows - you might end up being the person everyone suddenly wants making the coffees ☕

👥 Maximum 5 people so everyone gets plenty of hands-on practice
📅 Two Tuesday sessions - 16 & 23 June | 4–6pm
💰 $30 total for BOTH sessions (subsidised to keep it accessible)

Despite the overcast weather, today’s Cars and Coffee turnout was amazing!
Thank you everyone

A huge thank you to Brian Corric for organising this week, and for the foreseeable weeks while Steve Millen is away — these types of events wouldn’t be possible without your support.

The Mahurangi East Volunteer Fire Brigade brought over a fire truck, which was awesome to see. Thank you to all who donated to them!

And Women’s Centre Rodney sold Steve’s biography outside the cafe’s doors, so thank you to everyone who supported.

We had a great turnout at our Cars and Coffee event yesterday and it was awesome to see so many beautiful cars on display.

A very big thank you to everyone who came but a special mention must be made to the Mahurangi East Volunteer Fire Station for bringing along their engine and being a part of the morning.

Also a big thank you for the Es**rt Club from Hellensville for making the drive again.
Loved the Mini being a part of your convoy .

The winner of the Show Car Owner Free Meal Draw was Molly Briggs.
We will be emailing you Molly with a voucher for your meal.

We are having our next Cars and Coffee morning sometime in May and continuing a bi- monthly meet throughout the winter so keep an eye out for the details at the end of April.

Thanks to Brian Corrie and his family taking over while Steve away .

Finally we want to thank Steve and Jodi Millen again for their huge involvement in bringing these to the community. None of these mornings would of happened without them.Safe travels back to the USA and we can't wait to have you home again.

Job Vacancy for an experienced Barista.
Must be available to work weekends.

We require someone with proven experience working in a fast paced cafe environment, this is essential. You must have strong barista skills and confident front of house skills

Fluent English and a valid work visa or residency and being dependable is required.

This position would most suit someone who can comfortably grow into having the type of relationship with our regulars,fellow staff members and owners where we become more like friends than customers, work acquaintances and bosses.

Great weather and a great turnout for today’s Cars and Coffee!

Special thanks to our regulars and the new faces who stuck around afterwards for a good chat, it was lovely seeing everyone.

As per usual, we had the Rodney Women’s Centre selling Steven Millen’s book, Millen — thanks to all who supported.

And we hope everyone enjoyed today as much as we did, see you next time.

A wonderful turnout for such a beautiful day for our Cars and Coffee event!

It was a time full of awe with new cars popping into the regular mix, and some new faces, a lovely and welcomed surprise.

Another successful Cars and Coffee today!

Big thank you to Steve and Jodie Millen for their continuous generosity and support towards this event.

Today, Steve was selling and signing copies of his book, ‘Millen’, and posters of his racecar donating all profits towards the Rodney Women’s Centre.

Another huge thank you to everyone who bought a book, a poster, or both! This money helps the Women’s Centre to expand on their impact within our community, providing women with different access to counseling and courses. This time around, your purchases funded Christmas gifts for a local family. These proceeds leave an everlasting impact on these women, so from the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

Lastly, this thank you goes out to the community for your support towards the Cafe and this cause. We couldn’t do this without you.
