We are looking for highly driven Chefs who are genuinely passionate about Malaysian cuisine for Uncle Man's.
The candidate required to be flexible and adaptable to work as your roster will vary and we are operating daily from lunch to dinner service.
You must be familiar with Malaysian cuisine names, common ingredients and preparation techniques. Our mission is to provide authentic Malaysian cuisine and true local experience close to back home country for our customers.
To be successful, you will have the following skills, experience and knowledge:
Must have proven experience working in a busy kitchen
Must have minimum 2 years experience in cooking Asian cuisine
Able to work nights and weekends is essential
Be competent in all aspects of food preparation cooking and kitchen duties
Have the ability to work effectively under pressure and as part of a team
Have sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene and food control plans
Be highly professional and share a genuine passion for great food
Must be able to multitask, work under pressure and follow orders as we are a busy kitchen operation
Be able to follow recipes, systems and procedures
Be personable, engaging and have a positive can do attitude
Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
An understanding of basic Malaysian culture and the ability to speak Malay would be beneficial to your application.

Front of House Staff
Uncle Man's Malaysian Restaurant Wynyard Quarter, Auckland CBD
Must be able to work Full time during weekdays.
We are looking for Front Of house to join the team. Experience or a good sense of knowledge of Hospitality industry is preferable but can be taught to the right candidate.

What we are looking for:
Kitchen Hand for washing dishes and some food preparation.
Must have valid working visa.
A Permanent team player who is happy and confident, has heaps of initiative, is honest and reliable. You’ll need to be organised, calm, self motivated.
Working hours are monday to friday, 11-3.30pm (15-20hrs per week)
You will have a natural sense of urgency, are able to work fast, tidy and efficiently, willingness to help and learn and happy demeanour.

Take any bus or train to Britomart Transport Centre. From there, walk towards the waterfront and turn left onto Halsey Street. Keep walking for approximately 5 minutes until you reach the Malaysian restaurant.
